Your design files
When you drop or choose a KiCad netlist or schematic, the file is read by your browser (the File API) and analysed by JavaScript running on this page. The file, its name and its contents - part values, references, net names - are never uploaded, stored or sent to us or to anyone else. When you close or reload the tab, the data is gone. The optional "Copy report" and "Download report" buttons put the report on your clipboard or your disk; they do not send it anywhere.
The built-in sample boards are downloaded from this website like any other page asset.
Analytics ("Pulse")
This site uses a small first-party analytics service called Pulse, run by the same owner. It works without cookies:
- It stores a random visitor ID in your browser's localStorage so repeat visits can be counted. This ID is not set when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, and the server drops it for visitors in the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland.
- It keeps a random per-tab session ID in sessionStorage, so events from one visit can be grouped.
- For each event it records: the country (derived by the hosting network, not stored as an IP address), the device class (mobile, tablet or desktop), the referrer hostname (for example "reddit.com", not the full URL), the page path, campaign tags from the link you followed (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), and the event type.
- No IP addresses are stored. A short-lived hash of the address is used in memory only to rate-limit abuse.
Events include page views, clicks on buttons such as "Try a sample" or "Request a review", and a "check ran" event with counts only: the input type (netlist, schematic or sample), the number of parts, nets and rules, the number of errors, warnings and notes, and how long the check took. Nothing identifying your design is included.
Forms
If you send the review request or contact form, we receive what you type: your email address, name, message and the other fields on the form (for a review: tier, board type, approximate part count, KiCad version, deadline and the link you choose to share). If you ran a check in the same browser tab, the review request also includes that check's counts (for example "1 error, 2 warnings, 22 parts") to give context. Alongside the form, the service stores the country of the request and, where allowed, the analytics visitor ID described above. We use this only to reply and, for reviews, to provide the service. We do not sell it or add you to a mailing list.
A hidden "leave this empty" field filters spam bots; it is not stored for real submissions.
Browser storage used by this site
pulse_vid(localStorage) - analytics visitor ID described above, only where allowed.pulse_sid(sessionStorage) - analytics session ID for the current tab.byf_activated(sessionStorage) - remembers that you ran a check in this tab, so the "first use" analytics event is sent once.byf_last_check(sessionStorage) - the counts of your last check in this tab, used to pre-fill the review request.
Session storage is cleared when you close the tab. You can clear local storage at any time in your browser settings.
Hosting
The site is static files served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes network requests (including IP addresses) to deliver the pages and protect against attacks, under its own privacy policy.
Paid reviews
For a paid review, you share your project files through a link you control. They are used only for your review, are not shared with anyone else, and are deleted after the engagement unless you ask us to keep them for a follow-up. Payments are handled by a payment provider on its own site; card details never touch this website.
Your choices and rights
You can use the checker without sending anything. You can block analytics with a content blocker or by enabling Global Privacy Control; the site works the same. To ask what we hold about you, or to have your form submissions deleted, use the contact page.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change. Material changes to what is collected will be described on this page.
